Qatar’s Al Wakrah FC announced today the signing of Spanish striker Raul de Tomas on a season-long loan from Rayo Vallecano.
Al Wakrah said in a statement on its social media accounts that the Spanish striker signed a contract to join the first football team with a contract that ends in the summer of 2026 on a loan basis.
The statement added that the 30-year-old joined the club as part of the coaching staff’s vision to strengthen the team’s offensive line for the upcoming season and that he was chosen because of his experience and technical abilities that the team needs.
He started his career with Real Madrid in the age-groups before moving on to Granada, Valladolid, Espanyol, Benfica and Rayo Vallecano, and represented the Spanish national team at UEFA EURO 2021 and UEFA Nations League 2022.
It is noteworthy that Al Wakrah will start their new season at Al Thumama Stadium on August 15 against Al Arabi in the first round of the Qatar Football League.
