Barcelona to sign Swede Ronny Bardegji

FC Barcelona has signed Swedish footballer Ronny Bardegjifrom Copenhagen on a four-season contract until June 30, 2029, in the team’s second deal of the summer.

Born in Kuwait to Syrian parents with Swedish citizenship, Bardagji’s contract with the Danish club was set to expire in December, which is why a relatively low fee of 2 million euros was agreed upon with Barcelona, according to Spanish media.

The Catalan club said on its website: “FC Barcelona and FC Copenhagen of Denmark have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ronny Bardegji, the winger will sign a contract with the club for four seasons until June 30, 2029.”

Who is Rony Bardegji?

He started his career with Swedish club Malmö before moving to FC Copenhagen’s youth team in the summer of 2020, and thanks to his talent he was quickly promoted to the first team in 2022. The 19-year-old made 84 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing one assist, winning three Danish league titles and two cup competitions with the club. The player turned heads with Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League last season when he scored the decisive goal in a thrilling 4-3 victory over Manchester United in one of the competition’s most thrilling matches.

Bardegji is the Blaugrana’s second signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrival of goalkeeper Juan Garcia from local rivals Espanyol.

The Sweden U21 winger is likely to join Barcelona for their pre-season games before German coach Hansi Flick decides whether he is ready to play for the first team next season.
