Qatar’s Umm Salal FC announced the signing of 30-year-old Ivorian star Jean Kouassi from China’s Zhejiang FC in a deal aimed at supporting the offensive line in preparation for the Qatar Stars League for the 2025-2026 season. The club stated through its official accounts that the player comes within the framework of the management’s strategy aimed at strengthening the team with elements with international experience and high quality, capable of making the desired addition and raising the level of technical performance. Kouassi has a proven track record throughout his professional career, as he started his European career with Croatian club Hajduk Split in 2013, where he presented remarkable levels that made him the focus of attention of major Asian clubs. In 2015, he moved to Shanghai Port in China to begin his distinguished journey in Asian football, followed by joining Wuhan FC in 2017, where he shone greatly and contributed to the team’s promotion and positive results. He returned to Europe via Turkish Trabzonspor in 2021, and then to Fatih Karajumruk in 2022, where he competed in the Turkish Premier League, before traveling back to China through Zhejiang FC, which was his last stop before his move to Umm Salal. Kouassi is known for his speed, dribbling and playmaking skills, and can play both on the left wing and as a playmaker.
