Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani announces his candidacy for the presidency of the Olympic Council of Asia


Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and First Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), has announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Olympic Council of Asia, as part of his keenness to contribute to the development of Asian sports and strengthen its unity and cohesion during the next phase.

The announcement came on the heels of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) opening nominations for the July 15, 2025 presidential election, in preparation for the next General Assembly to be held in January 2026 in Tashkent.
